The North Atlantic right whale migration and calving season is beginning for the Southeast US.
<span-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">
<span-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Seasonal Management Area along the mid-Atlantic coast (New York to Savannah) begins tomorrow,
November 1st. The associated speed restriction of 10 knots for
vessels greater than 65' in length will remain in effect through April 30, 2017.<span-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">

The Southeast U.S. Seasonal Management Area (which includes the ports of Brunswick, Fernandina and Jacksonville) will become effective on November 15, 2016 and
will remain in place through April 15, 2017.
<span-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Mariners are requested use the charted two-way routes for these ports in order to reduce collisions with whales. Mariners entering the WHALLESSOUTH area must adhere to
the requirements of the Mandatory Ship Reporting System.
