The 10-mile swim starts at Remley's Point on the Wando River, crosses the main shipping channel of Charleston Harbor, and will finish at the General William B. Westmoreland Bridge on the Ashley River.    

<span-size:8.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">The Captain of the Port Charleston will establish and enforce a safety zone to protect the participants of this event. The safety zone will encompass all waters within a 75-yard radius around vessels officially associated with the event. No one shall enter, transit, moor, anchor, or loiter within the safety zone unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Charleston or his designated representative. All persons requesting to transit through the safety zone must contact the Coast Guard via VHF-FM channel 16.
