Brunswick is in the South Atlantic area. Savannah rules will apply from November 1 to April 30 and Brunswick rules are in effect November 15-April 15.

<span-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Courier New";color:windowtext">As a reminder, the right whale migration and calving season along the mid-Atlantic coast (New York to Savannah) began at mid-night.  The associated speed restriction of 10 knots while operating in a mid-Atlantic Seasonal Management Area will remain in effect through April 30, 2015.

Ralph Maggioni called the meeting to order at 11:03 AM and reported that Charlie Sutlive was attending an important family activity. The October 2014 meeting minutes were approved.  About 17 members and guests attended the meeting.  The minutes are arranged according to the agenda.

The FY15 Savannah and Brunswick Inner Harbor maintenance contract will be awarded in December and the FY-15 Savannah and Brunswick Entrance Channel maintenance contracts were awarded on November 13 and will start in mid-December in Savannah.  Dike construction and erosion protection continues at Jones Oysterbed Island and Disposal Area 14B dike construction is ongoing along with disposal area maintenance and Tybee Island shore protection.

Milton King reported that Savannah has not had a Regulated Garbage Incinerator since 2005 and most Regulated Garbage has to be shipped to Jacksonville for disposal. Milton is working on a small incinerator for the Hilton Head Airport and is in the process of seeing if an incinerator can be operated in Savannah by the end of March. <span-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Helvetica","sans-serif";color:black">               Jim McLaughlin was unable to attend and Tom Wright discussed the NOAA NMFS Right Whale SouthEast Implementation Team meeting at the end of October. There have been no Right Whales struck by vessels in the SouthEast in almost two years. The major threat is with fishing gear entanglement in the North East. Four whales were found entangled last year and two died. The Team is also concerned about the potential for Seismic Exploration for offshore petroleum and wind facilities to affect Right Whales. There has been no further information provided about the petition to remove speed restrictions in channels and pilot boarding areas. Ralph pointed out that Savannah has the best overall logistics of any port on the east coast and is the best place for Troops, equipment and resources. The maritime community should take steps to support Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Air Field.<span-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Helvetica","sans-serif";color:black">
