MARITIME SAFETY AND SECURITY BULLETIN 37-13<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">JUNE 07, 2013

 <span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

HURRICANE SEASON READINESS:<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">PORT READINESS CONDITION IV FOR SAVANNAH & BRUNSWICK<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Port Readiness Conditions are set by the Captain of the Port (COTP) and are based on the projected arrival of gale force winds (greater than 34 knots/39mph) associated with tropical storm activity in the port.<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

All members of the maritime community should remain vigilant of storm systems developing in the Atlantic Basin.<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Port readiness condition IV is now in effect for the ports of Savannah & Brunswick and will remain in effect until November 30th, 2013 unless gale force winds are projected in vicinity of the port. In that case, port readiness conditions will progress through the table below. All members of the maritime community should familiarize themselves with their responsibilities in the event of an increase in the port conditions.<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">

<span-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Current projections indicate that TROPICAL STORM ANDREA no longer presents a risk of gale force winds in the port. MSU Savannah will release additional MSSBs should conditions change.<span-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">
