438 AM EDT MON SEP 8 2008

SUBSTANTIAL LONG PERIOD SWELL WAVES FROM DISTANT TROPICAL CYCLONE IKE
ARE EXPECTED TO CREATE HAZARDOUS NAVIGATION THROUGH AREA INLETS...
SOUNDS...AND RIVER ENTRANCES FOR SMALL CRAFT OPERATORS TODAY. THIS
WILL BE ESPECIALLY TRUE AS THE TIDE IS GOING OUT THIS MORNING AND
AGAIN THIS EVENING.

INCREASING SWELL WAVES FROM 3 TO 4 FEET EVERY 14 TO 16 SECONDS...
WILL PRESENT A RISK FOR LOCALLY POWERFUL BREAKING WAVES AND VERY
TURBULENT CONDITIONS FOR SMALL BOATS PASSING THROUGH NARROW CUTS
AND INLETS HEADING IN OR OUT FROM THE ATLANTIC.
